Membership - Red Cross 1000May 21, 2002
We are looking for an investment of $100 per year from 1000 persons to help the Bahamas Red Cross Society continue in its service to residents in the Bahamas. After the very challenging events of last year, the Red Cross is now faced with a serious decline in contributions resulting in budgetary shortfalls unprecedented in the Society's history. Because of a lack of financial resources, we are experiencing difficulties meeting the operational costs of our existing services and additionally, we have been unable to proceed with a number of planned programs, such as the expansion of our Meals-on-Wheels program to feed even more needy residents within our communities. We are therefore appealing to residents, businesses and organizations to assist us as we seek to broaden our membership base and work together as we continue to build the Bahamas Red Cross and through the newly completed Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Relief Center, ensure our rediness for another hurricane like Floyd or Michelle. We did not hear from you following our appeal in 2001. Please take a moment to look at the services we provide to the community and then complete and our membership form. Become a member of the Red Cross today and remember, your annual investment of $100 will enable us to continue to expand our services to help those who cannot help themselves, particularly in times of crises.
